Scribner's engineers' and mechanics' companion : comprising United States' weights and measures : mensuration of superficies and solids ... the mechanical powers ... steam and the steam engine
A pocket handbook of weights, measures, mensuration, mechanical powers and steam-engine practice, compiled by J. M. Scribner and published in New York by Huntington and Savage in 1848 for working engineers and mechanics. The figures are small wood-engraved geometric diagrams — prisms, pyramids, wedges and rectangles built from thin outlines, dotted construction lines, lettered vertices and dense hatching — usable as line motifs, texture fills and diagram furniture.
