The season's work at Ahnas and Beni Hasan : 1890-1891
An excavation report on the 1890-91 season at Ahnas and Beni Hasan, written by Édouard Naville with G. Willoughby Fraser and Amelia Edwards and published in London in 1891 for subscribers to the Egypt Exploration Fund. Coarse-grained halftone photographs show toppled hieroglyphic columns in rubble trenches, timber scaffolding rigged against painted tomb walls, and a dig camp of tents and crates, while pen outline drawings map cliff tomb doorways above the Nile valley; useful for gritty photographic texture, hieroglyphic surface detail, and sparse landscape line work.
