Secrets concernans les arts et metiers
A French compendium of workshop recipes and trade secrets for the arts and crafts, printed by Jean de la Rivière at Nancy in 1721 for artisans, dyers, metalworkers and apothecaries. The plates are engraved title-pages divided into arched compartments showing workshop scenes distilling with alembics, shelved jars, forge and bench work plus an oval woodcut prospect of Nancy with spires and rooftops; useful for compartment layouts, hand-lettered title panels and small trade vignettes.
