Secrets concernans les arts et metiers
A French book of workshop recipes and trade secrets for the arts and crafts, compiled by Jean de la Rivière and printed at Nancy in 1721 for artisans, dyers and painters. An engraved frontispiece divides craft scenes into six arched compartments, and the text carries woodcut flower baskets, rose-and-vine headbands and leafy initials usable as borders, ornaments and drop caps.
