Seleucidarum imperium, sive, Historia regum Syriae ad fidem numismatum accommodata
A Latin history of the Seleucid kings of Syria reconstructed from their coinage, written by the French royal antiquary Jean Foy-Vaillant and printed in Paris by Louis Billaine in 1681 for scholars, collectors and cabinet keepers. The 168 plates show coins in pairs within double-ruled circles: a diademed profile head on the left, on the right a seated Zeus, standing Apollo or armed Athena ringed by Greek lettering, all in thin outline engraving that reads well as line art, roundel ornament or lettering reference.
