A multi-volume Florentine biographical dictionary of painters, sculptors and architects, printed by Gaetano Cambiagi in 1769 with copperplate portraits by Sante Pacini, Giovanni Battista Cecchi and others, aimed at collectors and students of art history. The plates are half-length engraved portraits, mostly in profile or three-quarter view against hatched grounds, showing caps, hoods, draped cloth and folded arms, useful for period costume reference, hatching textures and head-and-shoulders framing.
