Morris, F. O. (Francis Orpen), 1810-1893, Fawcett, Benjamin, Lydon, A. F. (Alexander Francis) · 1880 · London, Edinburgh, Dublin, William Mackenzie · 36 pictures

A multi-volume Victorian survey of British and Irish country houses, written by Francis Orpen Morris with plates drawn by A. F. Lydon and colour-printed from wood blocks by Benjamin Fawcett, issued by William Mackenzie in 1880 for subscribers interested in estates and their owners. The plates are wide landscape views in flat greens, dusty blues and pale cream, each house set low behind lawns, framing trees and grazing deer under streaked skies, useful for period architecture, muted colour palettes and printed cloud and foliage texture.
