A six-volume Victorian survey of British and Irish country houses, compiled by Francis Orpen Morris with chromoxylographs drawn by Alexander Francis Lydon and printed by Benjamin Fawcett, issued in London by William Mackenzie around 1880 for gentry and armchair tourists. Each plate sets a mansion or castle in lawns, parkland and mature trees under pale sky, printed in soft greens and creams useful for landscape backdrops and architectural silhouettes.
