A series of picturesque views of seats of the noblemen and gentlemen of Great Britain and Ireland. With descriptive and historical letterpress
A multi-volume survey of British and Irish country houses compiled by the naturalist-clergyman Francis Orpen Morris, with chromolithographs drawn by A. F. Lydon and printed by Benjamin Fawcett, issued in London by William Mackenzie around 1880 for gentry and armchair travellers. Each plate sets a mansion in wide lawns, lakes and specimen trees, printed in soft greens and warm brick tones useful for landscape backgrounds, architectural silhouettes and period colour palettes.
