Serrurerie du moyen-âge : les ferrures de portes
A survey of medieval door ironwork by Raymond Bordeaux, with plates after drawings by Henri Gerente and Georges Bouet, published in Oxford and Paris in 1858 for antiquarians and church restorers. The engravings record wrought-iron hinges, straps, escutcheons and nailheads in flat elevation: scrolled tendrils, foliate terminals, rosettes and repeating strapwork bands usable as borders, rules and symmetrical ornaments.
