The seven lamps of architecture : lectures on architecture and painting : the study of architecture
John Ruskin's architectural essays and lectures, reissued in Boston by Dana Estes & Co. in 1900 for general readers and students of Gothic building and painting. Plates gather Ruskin's own etched studies of arches, capitals, cusped tracery, foliate carving and inlaid diaper patterns, often several fragments to a page, giving designers dense line texture and isolable ornamental motifs.
