An exhibition catalogue issued by the Art Association of Montreal for its seventeenth loan show of oil and watercolour paintings at the opening of its new gallery in November 1893, printed locally for visitors and members. The plates reproduced here are trade advertisements printed in red and orange ink — a Remington No. 2 typewriter, a carved pedestal desk, a mandolin, a Gothic stained-glass window panel flanked by ornamental type — usable as line-engraved product cuts, display lettering, and period advertising layouts.
