Die Farbenfibel

Ostwald, Wilhelm, 1853-1932 · 1921 · Unesma · 8 pictures

Wilhelm Ostwald's Die Farbenfibel, published by Unesma in Leipzig in 1921, is a German primer on his color system, written for painters, teachers, printers and anyone needing an ordered vocabulary of hues. Its plates are tipped-in chips of flat color set in black grounds — paired squares, vertical numbered ladders, and diamond-shaped tonal arrays — usable as palette sources, grid layouts, and ready-made swatch charts.
