A French trade report issued in 1901 by the Revue Générale des Matières Colorantes, surveying the bleaching, dyeing and printing of textile fibres as shown at the 1900 Paris Exposition, written for chemists, dyers and mill owners. The plates are halftone photographs dropped into dense two-column type: panoramic views of dyeworks with chimneys, rail sidings and rows of sheds, and shop-floor shots of roller printing and mercerizing machines with belts, cylinders and cast-iron frames.
