Senshokuhō : Shinhatsumei jitchi keiken

Kojima, Eitarō · 1887 · Hyosuke, Yasui · 11 pictures

A Japanese manual on dyeing methods by Kojima Eitarō, published in Osaka by Yasui Hyōsuke in 1887 for dyers and textile finishers working with newly available synthetic colorants. Woodblock-printed plates show flat colour discs, three to five to a page, each captioned in brush-written kanji and framed by a ruled black border on cream paper, giving a ready set of Meiji-period dye swatches, circle layouts and vertical label placement.
