A wool dyers' sample book issued by Farbenfabriken vorm. Friedrich Bayer & Co. in 1913 for mill colourists and textile buyers, recording the firm's dyestuffs of that year. Actual swatches — butterfly-shaped hanks, flannel squares, knitted and yarn samples — are tipped onto cream pages with trilingual recipe captions, giving flat saturated colour fields, fibre texture and grid layouts.
