Colours Fast to Light for Staining Wood
A 1911 trade sample book from Farbenfabriken vorm. Friedrich Bayer & Co. of Elberfeld, issued to woodworkers and dyers as a guide to light-fast wood stains. Each page pairs a column of German and French recipes, given in grams per dye bath, with rectangular swatches of stained veneer running down the right margin: mahogany reds, ochres, olive and near-black greens, numbered for ordering.
