A German technical manual on aniline and coal-tar dyeing and printing of wool, cotton and silk, written by A. Beckers and M. Reimann in 1874 for dyehouse chemists and textile printers. The plates are mounted swatches of actual dyed cloth and yarn — flat bands, striped and paisley-printed cottons, glossy silks — each captioned in Fraktur inside a ruled frame, giving exact period colour ranges, textile textures and a clear specimen-page layout.
