Shipbuilding from its beginnings
Emile van Konijnenburg's three-volume survey of shipbuilding history, issued in Brussels in 1913 by the Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses for engineers and naval historians. Halftone plates after prints and drawings show sailing barges, warships, fishing craft and hulls under construction, most in soft grey wash against blank sky and flat water, useful as silhouettes and rigging diagrams.
