A Latin study of the cities and peoples of Sicily and southern Italy told through their ancient coins, compiled by Hubert Goltzius with notes by Andreas Schottus and printed by the Plantin press in Antwerp in 1644 for antiquarians and collectors. The engraved plates rank coin faces as circles on dense stippled grounds, labelled with Greek city names in ribbon cartouches: profile heads, deities, tripods, horses, owls, winged Victories, and blank discs for unrecorded types.
