The signist's book of modern alphabets, plain and ornamental, ancient and mediæval, from the eighth to the twentieth century, with numerals
A lettering manual compiled from Freeman Delamotte's Victorian alphabet plates, reissued in 1906 by F. J. Drake of Chicago for sign painters, engravers and draughtsmen. Each plate lays out a full A-to-Z, often with numerals, in black pen line on tinted paper: foliated Lombardic initials, blackletter, Roman capitals and outlined shaded letters ready for tracing, display titling or custom typographic mashups.
