Sign writing and glass embossing : a complete practical illustrated manual of the art, to which are added numerous alphabets
A trade manual on sign writing and glass embossing by James Callingham, issued in Philadelphia by H. C. Baird & Co. in 1890 for sign painters and glass decorators. Its plates are full display alphabets in wood-engraved line: shaded and outlined capitals, blocked three-dimensional letters, chamfered and hatched faces, and letters set against brick and stone grounds, usable as ready-made display lettering, ornament fills, and shading patterns.
