Siluestri à Petrasancta Symbola heroica
A Latin treatise on heroic devices and imprese by the Jesuit Silvestro Pietrasanta, reissued at Amsterdam in 1682 by the Janssonio-Waesbergios firm with Wetstein, its plates engraved by Cornelis Galle partly after Rubens, for scholars of heraldry and emblems. The 310 engravings are small emblem cartouches: strapwork and scroll frames, winged masks, putti and herms enclosing mottoes on ribbons above rayed suns, burning altars, ships and flat landscapes, useful as ready-made frames, borders and symbolic vignettes.
