A monthly British sporting magazine issued by Longman, Green & Co in March 1898, aimed at gentleman hunters, shooters, anglers and other field-sports readers. The plates are dark halftone and line reproductions of outdoor scenes — night woods and marshes, riders in scrubby country, flushed birds over reedbeds — printed in heavy blacks with small figures silhouetted against water and sky, useful for high-contrast landscape vignettes and dense foliage silhouettes.
