Simon's Essay on Irish coins, and of the currency of foreign monies in Ireland; with Mr. Snelling's supplement
A numismatic reference, James Simon's eighteenth-century essay on Irish coinage reissued with Thomas Snelling's supplement by G.A. Procter in Dublin in 1810, addressed to antiquaries, collectors and currency historians. Numbered engraved plates line up coins in obverse-and-reverse pairs joined by a short rule, each captioned with a ruler's name, yielding profile and facing busts, long and short crosses, harps, shields and circular legends in Lombardic and Roman capitals usable as small line ornament, rosettes or monogram frames.
