Sinryke fabulen : verklaart en toegepast tot alderley zeede-lessen, dienstig om waargenoomen te werden in het menschelijke en burgerlijke leeven
A Dutch fable and emblem book by Pieter de la Court, published in Amsterdam by Hieronymus Sweerts in 1685 with engravings by Jacob Gole, applying animal tales to moral lessons for civic and everyday conduct. The 133 small horizontal plates set wolves, sheep, foxes, lions, eagles and peasants in open countryside, with heavy foreground trees framing ruled-line skies and distant hills, giving designers compact framed vignettes, animal silhouettes and reusable landscape backdrops.
