Six Greek sculptors
Ernest Arthur Gardner's 1915 survey of Greek sculpture, published in London by Duckworth and in New York by Scribner's for students and general readers of classical art. Seventy-nine halftone plates photograph marble heads, torsos and reliefs against black grounds, lit to bring out weathered surfaces, carved curls and drapery folds; useful for figure references, high-contrast cut-outs and texture.
