Sixty years' memories of art and artists
Benjamin Champney's memoir of his life as a White Mountain landscape painter, privately printed at Woburn, Massachusetts, in 1900 for fellow artists and subscribers. Plates mix halftone portrait photographs with reproduced pencil and pen sketches — figure studies, artists' heads, and loose tree-and-meadow scenes — useful for sketchbook line work, tonal stippled foliage, and nineteenth-century studio portraiture.
