A Swedish history of caricature written by art critic Carl G. Laurin and published by Norstedt in Stockholm in 1910 for general readers and students of art. Its 484 plates reproduce European comic drawing from several centuries — pen-and-ink line, lithographic crayon shading, and cross-hatched figure studies of clerics, officials, promenading couples and crowds — useful for character silhouettes, period dress, and examples of exaggerated proportion.
