A 1921 Scribner's architectural survey by American architects Lewis A. Coffin, Henry M. Polhemus and Addison F. Worthington, gathering cottages, farmhouses, small manors, town houses and village churches of provincial France as models for practising designers and builders. The 180 plates are soft-grained halftone photographs of stucco and stone walls, steep tiled roofs, dormers, courtyard gates and walled gardens, plus measured plans and elevations useful for texture fills, silhouette studies and vernacular detail reference.
