A popular astronomy book compiled by E. D. Nixon and issued in Baltimore by J. F. Weishampel, Jr. in 1883 for general readers curious about the heavens. The wood engravings run from a printer's composing stick with reversed proverb lettering to a footed compote heaped with pineapple, grapes and pears, alongside the Library of Congress copyright stamp of June 1883 — usable as small stock cuts, mirrored type samples and an oval date stamp.
