Some comment on government ownership of telephone properties ..
A 1914 pamphlet by Frank Hopkins Bethell arguing against government ownership of telephone properties, issued in New York for legislators, shareholders and the reading public. Its plates include a cutaway elevation of a telephone exchange building with floor-by-floor labelled rooms full of small figures at switchboards and desks, hatched and stippled pie charts comparing Europe, Canada and the United States, and cartoon panels of clerks at work.
