Some notes on books and printing; a guide for authors and others
A printing-trade handbook by Charles Thomas Jacobi, overseer of the Chiswick Press, issued in London in 1892 to explain type, paper and book production to authors and publishers. The plates are specimen initials cut in black and white: reserved letters standing on dotted grounds among flowers, acanthus scrolls and birds, usable as drop caps, monograms or square ornament tiles.
