Some pictures of quaint things which are sold at the sign of the "Popular Shop" : and a few words about making the house beautiful with homely material.
A furniture and interior decoration trade catalogue issued in 1898 by Joseph P. McHugh & Co. of New York, sold from their "Popular Shop" to householders furnishing rooms with plain materials. Line drawings in brown ink on tinted stock show wicker armchairs, folding screens and cabinets, built from dense hatching and woven lattice that reads as usable texture and pattern fill.
