Some points in choosing textiles
A 1910 University of Illinois bulletin by Charlotte M. Gibbs advising housekeepers and consumers on judging cloth quality when buying textiles. The plates are halftone photographs of small fabric swatches laid flat on pale ground, shown with frayed and fringed edges, unravelled warp threads and open plain weaves, lettered A to D, useful as grey textures, specimen-card layouts and thread detail.
