Some points in choosing textiles
A short 1910 bulletin by Charlotte M. Gibbs, issued by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to teach consumers and home economics students how to judge cloth. Halftone photographs show single fabric swatches on plain grounds — woolens, plaids, fringed and frayed edges, loose fiber tufts, lettered A/B/C comparisons — giving usable grey woven textures and specimen-plate layouts.
