Some types of Q-surfaces in a rectilinear congruence produced by circular transformations
A 1914 mathematics thesis by Claude Newton Stokes on surfaces in rectilinear congruences, submitted at the University of Illinois for examiners in analytic geometry. Its ten plates are hand-drawn ink diagrams, each numbered in Roman numerals inside a ruled orange border: spheres shaded with concentric circles, intersecting planes, projected ellipses, and fans of construction lines with pencilled letter labels.
