Appleton (New York) edition of Friedrich Froebel's Mutter- und Koselieder, with songs newly translated and reset by kindergarten advocate Susan Blow for mothers and teachers of young children. The 143 plates are pure outline engravings after the original German designs: mothers and children in gardens, kitchens, workshops and mills, many enclosed in leafy or ribbon-like borders, useful as uncoloured line art, decorative frames, and small domestic vignettes.
