Sound
John Tyndall's Sound, a course of Royal Institution lectures on acoustics issued in book form by Longmans, Green in London in 1895 for students and general readers. The 116 wood-engraved figures show bench apparatus — tuning forks, clamp stands, gas flames, sirens, resonance tubes — drawn in fine line with ray paths as straight rules and dark hatched panels behind vibrating flames, useful for diagram vocabulary, laboratory hardware silhouettes, and line-and-stipple shading.
