A 1618 German Rosicrucian tract issued under the name Theophilus Schweighardt, arguing for the Fraternity of the Rose Cross and addressed to readers awaiting its promised wisdom alongside its scoffing critics. The engravings pair an architectural title page, with a sword-bearing allegorical figure of theology and a harbour vignette, with an emblematic chart of correspondences tree, minerals, lettered circles for earth, water and air, and a standing microcosm figure on a pedestal useful as diagrammatic frames, labelled circle schemes and small emblem cartouches; one plate of combed marbled paper is also included.
