Spitzen und ihre Charakteristik
Bertha von Jurie's 1907 handbook from Berlin publisher Bruno Cassirer, cataloguing types of lace and their distinguishing traits for collectors, dealers and needleworkers. Photographic plates show bobbin and needle lace specimens flat against black grounds, giving white scalloped borders, hexagonal mesh fields and dense floral motifs usable as high-contrast textures, edge ornaments and repeating strip patterns.
