Stained glass tours in England
A traveler's guidebook to English medieval stained glass, written by American diplomat and glass collector Charles Hitchcock Sherrill and published by John Lane in London and New York in 1909 for touring amateurs. Halftone photographs show church and guildhall interiors from the nave floor: tracery-filled east windows, fan and lierne vaults, arcades, and glazing reduced to dense grey-brown tonal patterns usable as texture.
