The standard Hoyle; a complete guide and reliable authority upon all games of chance or skill now played in the United States whether of native or foreign introduction
An American rulebook of card, board, and parlour games compiled under Hoyle's name by Barnet Phillips and issued by Excelsior Publishing House, New York, in 1904, for household and club players. The 44 cuts are line-engraved diagrams: checkerboards in diagonal hatching with solid and ringed discs marking positions, printed small and slightly inked-over, useful as grid patterns, hatch textures, and game-piece marks.
