A 1914 history of the United States flag compiled by Charles West Stewart for the Navy Publishing Co. in Washington, D.C., tracing official designs from 1777 to Wilson's term for naval officers, schools and patriotic readers. Plates give flat color lithographs of successive star arrangements plus halftones of worn battle flags, useful for star-field layouts, stripe proportions and period bunting.
