A popular astronomy handbook by David P. Todd, built on the ninth edition of W. T. Lynn's Celestial Motions and issued in Boston by Little, Brown in 1899 for amateur observers and students. Illustrations are coarse halftones and engravings: planetary and solar disks as bright circles on black grounds, Mars with ruled canal lines, orbital diagrams, telescope apparatus, and dark oval portraits of astronomers.
