The stars and their stories; a book for young people
An introductory astronomy reader for young people compiled by Mary Matlock Griffiths and published by Henry Holt in New York in 1913, pairing constellation lore from classical mythology with seasonal sky maps. The pictures are line diagrams in which stars appear as filled dots of graded size joined by straight rules, set inside circular horizon maps with stippled Milky Way bands, serif star names, and dashed ecliptic lines — useful as ready-made star charts, dot-and-line patterns, and circular label layouts.
