Stichtelyke zinnebeelden, en Bybel-stoffen
A Dutch emblem book of moral and biblical subjects written by Govert Klinkhamer and published in Amsterdam in 1740 by Jacobus Hayman, with engravings by Adolf van der Laan after designs by Arnold Houbraken, made for pious Protestant readers. Small horizontal plates set one or two figures in open country or village streets, with fine ruled hatching for cloud and rain and dense stippled foliage, useful for period costume, landscape backdrops, and weather textures.
