Stilanalysen als Einführung in die japanische Malerei
A German art-historical study of Japanese painting by William Cohn, published in Berlin by Oesterheld in 1908 for scholars and collectors learning to read brushwork by style. The halftone plates reproduce hanging scrolls and handscrolls in warm grey and sepia tones: ink-wash landscapes with pine clumps, mist banks and lakeshore trees, plus crowded figure scenes of courtiers and children on verandas, useful as soft-edged brush textures, vertical compositions and line-drawn crowd groupings.
