The St. James's magazine, and heraldic and historical register
A monthly London periodical on nobility, heraldry and history edited by Bernard Burke and issued by E. Churton from 1850 for genteel British subscribers. The extracted images come largely from its advertising pages: small line engravings of a fluted metal tea urn with scroll handle and tap, a balloon-back parlour chair, and a buttoned easy chair on casters, drawn in plain outline with hatched shading, usable as spot cuts, catalogue-style product silhouettes or Victorian interior motifs.
