The stones of Venice
John Ruskin's study of Venetian building and ornament, issued in New York by John Wiley from 1851 for readers of architecture and art criticism. The cuts are small line engravings of arch profiles, capitals, cornice sections and mouldings, many hatched or left as bare outline with italic key letters, useful as geometric diagram forms and shading textures.
